A new specialty was opened at MSLU

The Belarusian Society of the Deaf and Minsk State Linguistic University entered into a cooperation agreement. Now the educational institution will train sign language interpreters. Previously, specialists in sign language communication were trained at the Linguistics and Humanities College. At the level of higher education in our country, such qualifications will be awarded for the first time. 11 people were enrolled in the translation department in the new profile. The initiator of the innovation is the Ministry of Education. The task was set for the university back in 2021. For two years at the university they studied international experience in training specialists. The new specialty is a contribution to solving issues of social inclusion of people with hearing disabilities.
