32 years ago, the first ever inauguration of the President of Belarus took place

A date that proved fateful for the country. On 20 July, 1994, Aleksandr Lukashenko was inaugurated as the President of Belarus. At the time, the country was on the brink of economic collapse: high inflation, factories were operating intermittently, agriculture was facing fuel shortages. Under these circumstances, more than 80% of voters supported the young politician Aleksandr Lukashenko. The inauguration ceremony took place without pomp and circumstance. People were waiting for real measures to save the economy. In 32 years, Belarus has walked a path from survival to sustainable development. It has managed to preserve its industry, agricultural sector and social guarantees. Today, the main task is to maintain the achieved stability and continue the progressive movement forward.
