300 years since birth of Georgy Konisski celebrated in Mogilev

The 300th anniversary since the birth of politician, diplomat, teacher and writer Georgy Konisski was celebrated in Mogilev. A big sacred procession was held from the Transfiguration Cathedral to the house where the prominent figure had lived. Thousands of people have honored the memory of the saint. Georgy Konisski stood at the origins of the sovereignty and independence of Belarus. He was engaged in the erection of temples. For the first time in Belarus, thanks to Georgy Konisski, sky observations were made.
