Aleksandr Lukashenko has made some appointments to the new government. Most of them have retained their posts. According to the head of state, the current composition can be called only partly new. After all, many of them were appointed and worked before the elections. The economic bloc of the Council of Ministers was headed by First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov. Speaking about the tasks facing the economy, Aleksandr Lukashenko first of all emphasized the need to attract investment. Vladimir Karanik, a new Deputy Prime Minister, will be responsible for the social sphere. Earlier he headed Grodno Region Executive Committee. Ministry of Communications and Informatization will be headed by Kirill Zalessky. Previously, he served as deputy head of the High Technology Park.
