Newsprint mill in Shklov opens new niches

Thanks to modernization, the Shklov Newsprint Mill produces more than just office paper. The company quickly responded to global eco-trends and transitioned to closed-loop production. Instead of virgin wood, they recycle hundreds of tonnes of waste paper. The resulting product is corrugated cardboard paper, which is in demand in foreign markets. The Shklov Mill produces approximately 70.000 tonnes of paper annually. They focus on niche products. Receipt base paper used to be imported into the region. Today, thanks to modernization, it is the only plant in Belarus producing this base paper. Another high-tech product is base paper for decorative facing materials. Currently, 70% of the mill's output is exported. Exports range from Russia and Uzbekistan to Türkiye and Iran.
