Meeting with permanent members of Security Council

Topical issues of national security, including possible changes in conscription rules against the background of difficult demographic situation, were discussed at the meeting of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko with permanent members of the Security Council. Bad health and postponements were among the main reasons for not meeting conscription targets last year. Alexander Lukashenko noted that some measures to rectify the situation were already taken. He added that the government drafted a corresponding bill. «It will be hard for us to take all the decisions at once, that is why we will move step by step toward the ultimate goal», Alexander Lukashenko said.
