Belarus and Uzbekistan have managed to bridge a gap in bilateral cooperation which existed in the past 15-20 years. Stepping up bilateral cooperation was high on the agenda of the meeting in the Palace of Independence. Speaking to Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko noted: a closer partnership between the two countries became possible, among other things, thanks to the personal contribution of the President of Uzbekistan. The parties have signed a bilateral cooperation roadmap. Belarus is fully committed to its implementation, Alexander Lukashenko confirmed. A few moths ago the two states agreed to reach $500 million of bilateral trade by 2020.
