The issues of counteracting the spread of drugs were discussed today at a meeting with the President. This hot topic is under the constant control of law enforcement officers and the Head of State personally. The systemic work being carried out in the country made it possible to alleviate the challenging situation that has developed over the recent decades. The key decision was the decree of the President adopted at the end of 2014. The document helped stop the spread of spice and smoking mixtures, while criminal liability for drug offenses was tightened. At the same time, this summer amendments to the criminal code made it possible for the courts to adopt a more flexible approach to sentencing.
