Belarus will endeavor to procure 30-40% of the oil the country needs from Russia. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the relevant statement during the government conference held to discuss ways to make the export of oil products more effective. Since the beginning of the year, Russian companies stopped the supply of raw materials to Belarusian refineries. The reason was the price disagreement. At the end of December, Alexander Lukashenko instructed to conclude alternative contracts for the uninterrupted operation of Belarusian refineries. In the near future a consignment of Norwegian oil will be delivered to Belarus via the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda. 80,000 tons of raw materials are intended for processing at the Novopolotsk Naftan.
