The meeting of the Council of Heads
of States of the Shanghai Cooperation
Organization has ended in China.
SCO leaders,
including President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko, spoke at
the event. In his
speech, the Belarusian leader
highlighted key issues
for the further development
of the organization: Eurasian security,
trade without
barriers, the opening of new
transport corridors, as
well as science and
innovation. As a result,
the participants signed 20
documents. Among them
are the Tianjin Declaration
and the SCO development strategy
until 2035.
The leaders
also declared the Kyrgyz city
of Cholpon Ata the tourist
and cultural
capital of the SCO this
year and
next. In addition, the
summit hosted a symbolic
opening ceremony of the SCO anti-drug
center and the universal
center for countering
challenges and threats
to the security of the organization's member states.
