A. Lukashenko meets with Belarusian Women's Union activists

The women's movement has become a force to be reckoned with in Belarus. The results of the recent elections to parliament and local councils of deputies confirm this. This was noted by the President at a meeting with activists of the Belarusian Women's Union. There are more than 170 thousand members in its ranks. The role of the association is growing. It is represented in all regional, city and district centers of the country. And recently, when the All-Belarusian People's Assembly was given constitutional status, the Belarusian Women's Union received the right to delegate its representatives to it. For the President, this meeting was an opportunity to congratulate and thank women for their best qualities and active position, and also to discuss whether everything has been done for the prosperity of our state. Its future is the future of our children, the Head of State is convinced. That's why a woman's perspective on the development of society is so important. Aleksandr Lukashenko believes that the main purpose of a woman is motherhood. By raising children to be patriots, mothers strengthen the country. No matter how the circumstances develop, the state will continue to fully support motherhood and childhood. This applies to benefits, the development of medicine and health centers. In addition, the country has a long period of parental leave; there is no talk of reducing it. The President warmly congratulated the women on the upcoming holiday, and traditionnally presented state awards.
