The progress of the harvest and sowing campaigns, the processing of milk and meat, and the dynamics of food product sales are at the center of the President’s attention. Aleksandr Lukashenko recently heard a report from Minister of Agriculture and Food Yuri Gorlov. The harvesting of grain and leguminous crops is in the final stage. Farmers are expecting a significant increase in yield, even compared to the high baseline level of the previous year. The total weight of the harvest, including rapeseed and corn, will be about 11.5 million tonnes. As for the situation in livestock farming, the report focused on maintaining technological and operational discipline and on measures to reduce the level of cattle mortality. By October, several hundred calf housing facilities will be put into operation. This year also shows a significant increase in the harvesting of grass fodder.
