The recent progress between Belarus and the United States will mark a new stage of relations. This opinion was expressed by President Alexander Lukashenko at the meeting with the Pentagon"s representative. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Michael Carpenter is in Minsk with a three-day visit and has already had a number of meetings in the Defense Ministry and the Foreign Ministry of Belarus. During the meeting, the President drew attention to the fact that the relations between Belarus and the West are too politicized. Despite this, the official Minsk is ready to discuss any questions with Western partners.<br>The Belarusian side is not happy with the NATO expansion to the East. But the President is convinced that the Alliance is not going to be at war with Russia or Belarus. Neither America nor Europe needs another conflict in the Eastern European region.
