The
26th session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly was the most large-scale in the
history of the organization, as stated by OSCE PA Secretary General Roberto
Montella. The meetings of parliamentarians representing 60 countries finished
in Minsk
yesterday. The session resulted in the adoption of a Minsk declaration. The document contains
recommendations for the governments of the OSCE countries and tens of
resolutions, including Belarus’
initiative on countering new psychoactive substances. One of the resolutions
put forward by the delegates — the notorious document on the situation in
Eastern Europe — has not made it to the final Minsk declaration. According to Roberto
Montella, the OSCE PA session in Minsk
was very productive.
