At the opening of the 19th ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement in Kampala, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus was unanimously elected Vice-Chairman of the Bureau of the organization from the European group. On the sidelines of the forum, Maxim Ryzhenkov held a series of talks with colleagues from Asia and the Middle East. An agreement was reached with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bangladesh to activate intergovernmental mechanisms. New initiatives in the energy and humanitarian fields, as well as the protection of international law from unilateral sanctions, were discussed with the Venezuelan side. An emphasis was placed with representatives of Uganda on the launch of assembly production of Belarusian machinery and food safety. The parties agreed with Serbia to intensify cooperation in industry, transport and pharmaceuticals. Top-level visits and participation in the Minsk Conference on Eurasian Security, as well as projects in education and engineering were discussed with Myanmar. Brief meetings were also held with representatives of Algeria, Cuba, Azerbaijan and Palestine.
