Reference pricing for medicines

Belarus will again switch to reference pricing for medicines. This is planned to be done by the end of the year. As the head of the Ministry explained on the sidelines of the international conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of antimonopoly regulation in Belarus, this principle is implemented in Russia. It was in place in Belarus before the pandemic and showed its effectiveness. It means that when determining the cost of a drug in our market, we looked at how much it costs on similar ones. Thus, the new approach will help to get away from price regulation, a measure that is more stringent, but still temporary.
