Ministry of Agriculture and Food comments on rumors about lack of milk in stores and difficulties with packaging

There is enough milk on the domestic market, but due to the imposed sanctions, there are difficulties with Tetrapack packaging. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Vadim Shagoiko. He noted that the domestic needs are 100% covered. While producing almost 8 million tons of milk, Belarusians consume about 3 million tons. And this year, production volumes will be increased. However, due to the lack of Tetrapack packaging, manufacturers had to slightly revise their product range. The Ministry emphasizes that in order to avoid interruptions in the supply of milk on the domestic market, purposeful work is being carried out jointly with Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade and local authorities. The needs for each region and the city of Minsk have been determined, a clear delivery schedule has been set, and its implementation is under control.
