First million tons of grain cropped in Grodno region

Agrarians of the Grodno region cropped the first million tons of grain. Traditionally, the region has the highest yield in the country – an average of about sixty hundredweights per hectare. Compared to last year, the farms increased productivity almost by 15 centners averagely. The millionth milestone was overcome thanks to the work of farmers throughout the year. Strict adherence to technology, the right choice of winter and spring crops, plant protection – all these factors have led to such indicators. Together with corn, the farms intend to approach two million tons of grain in this harvesting campaign.
