The only facility in the CIS producing fertilized trout eggs operates in the city of Cherikov in the Mogilev Oblast. The first batch of 450.000 larvae of this valuable fish species was produced at the "Paluzh" farm. To accelerate the maturation process, the temperature in the tanks is lowered and daylight hours are regulated. Now, this valuable material can be harvested up to four times a year. Before the facility opened, it was imported to Belarus from Europe. Now, not only have they eliminated their dependence on imports, but the facility will be able to supply all Belarusian fish farms producing valuable fish species with juvenile fish, as well as export the product. This is an important step in strengthening the country's food security and ensuring a closed-loop trout production cycle in Belarus.
