The program was timed to coincide with two round dates at once – the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Russia, as well as a personal anniversary. For three decades, the repertoire of the Moscow Soloists has included more than 350 works of world musical classics. Yuri Bashmet is also known to the Minsk public for the annual festival named after the maestro. The day before, masterpieces of world classics from Mozart to Britten and Grieg, as well as works by contemporary composers from Georgia, Japan and China were performed in the Great Hall of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society.
