What did Soviet housewives cook? Where did they buy and store food and how was it served? The culinary history of the last century through household items and art, furniture, household appliances, photographs and books is presented at the exposition in the Minsk City History Museum. Atmospheric installations reflect home traditions, and handmade tablecloths and napkins, dishes and household items convey the atmosphere of that time. The exhibition also includes many items related to the history of food industry enterprises. Among them are Minsk refrigerators, Brest gas stoves and a bread box from the automobile plant. One can see rare archive video footage of the work of these enterprises, as well as cafes and restaurants of the second half of the twentieth century.
