Ministry of Justice: Belarus is working on the issue of adjusting the minimum amount of alimony

Currently, the amount is linked to the budget of the subsistence minimum — it is Br530,37. If the parent is employed, the payment depends on earnings: a quarter of income — for one child; 33% — for two, for three or more — half of salary. If the parent has a small income, works on a part—time basis, or is completely unemployed, the minimum subsistence level is linked to the budget. There are over 105.000 alimony recovery proceedings in the country today. In 2026, over 370 mln rubles were recovered, which is a third more than a year earlier. The debtor may also be criminally liable: every fifth criminal record in the country is child support evasion.
