The audience can expect two new items on a national theme. The ballet about Marc Chagall will be staged by the Bolshoi Ballet's chief choreographer Igor Kolb. At the centre of the story is Vitebsk, the idea of personal maturation and how a person's artistic style and fate are influenced by the place where he was born and what he experienced. The second performance is a synthesis of genres. The ballet opera, dedicated to the Polotsk princes, will tell about the heroes of the chronicles, about Polotsk itself, Princess Rogneda and Prince Vladimir, then about Euphrosyne of Polotsk. This season, the legendary opera Nabucco by Giuseppe Verdi is returning to the Belarusian stage.
