The National Art Museum presents an exhibition of paintings, drawings and sculptures "In Silence Before Dawn", dedicated to the Independence Day of Belarus. Stories about the war, written on paper the size of a matchbox, and large-scale paintings of the post-war era – the exhibition presents works of the 1940s and early 50s. Portraits of performers who took part in front-line concerts, sketches, military sketches, drawing from nature – these documents are of particular artistic value. They show the evolution of the work of many Belarusian artists who went to the front and to partisan detachments from the first days of the war. A separate part of the exposition consists of works of the early post-war period, which tell about the days of the liberation of Minsk and the revival of the country after the Great Patriotic War (World War - II).
