The detective film "19.91" is based on the novella by a contemporary Belarusian writer Andrei Fedorenko. Two internationalist soldiers discover ancient treasures in Afghanistan, secretly smuggle them to the Soviet Union and in 1991 the treasures surface in a small Belarusian town. Filming took place across a vast geography including Minsk, Pukhovichi, Zaslavl, Rakov and more. Director Kirill Khaletsky personally screened nearly 6.500 cast members. Four 44-minute episodes and a feature-length version will be released. The premiere of the film is scheduled for 2027.
