The Belarusian State Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Lifestyle recreates ancient folk games in the Strochitsa. These entertainments have retained their authenticity, but have been adapted by the museum staff for modern perception. They require quick thinking, dexterity, strength, and teamwork. One of the most memorable events in winter is horse-drawn sleigh rides. On the territory of the museum, which occupies 150 hectares, in the snowy winter it is possible to travel only by this transport. Sledges have long been an integral part of the life of Belarusians: they transported logs for logging and firewood, and were used as winter transport at weddings.
