A Chinese marionette theatre performed in Minsk for the first time

The performance "Living Puppet Theatre: Ancient Art in a New Light" combined philosophical parables, classical operatic drama and folk dances with acrobatic feats. The audience was presented with five vignettes based on Chinese legends. Puppeteers, dressed in costumes incorporating traditional elements, appeared on the Youth Theater stage alongside the marionettes, all accompanied by ancient Nanyin music. The Quanzhou theatre's marionette manipulation technique boasts a thousand-year history and is included on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
