Today marks the 56th anniversary of the day when the legendary Pesnyary ensemble took the stage. The history of the musical group began in the mid-1960s, when the army service in the Red Banner Belarusian Military District brought together young musicians. In 1968, Vladimir Mulyavin made the first attempts to create an ensemble. In the beginning, they were "Lyavony", as the musicians worked with the popular dance group "Lyavonikha". The official birthday of the band is considered to be 1 September, 1969, when the Lyavony group received the right to be called a vocal and instrumental ensemble by the decision of the Artistic Council of the Belarusian Philharmonic. They wove Belarusian folklore with guitar strings. Their music has become a national classic.
