The daughter of a renowned artist and a graduate of the Minsk Choreographic School, she joined the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus in the 1960s and shone on its stage until the late 1980s. She worked with the best choreographers of the Soviet Union and performed at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg and the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. The ballets "The Creation of the World" and "Carmen" made L. Brzhozovskaya the brightest star of those years. Together with Yuri Troyan, they toured half the world. After retiring from the stage, L. Brzhozovskaya mentored several generations of prima ballerinas at the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus.
