13th century stone crosses found in Belarus

Stone crosses of the 13th century were found on the territory of one of the most ancient Christian monasteries in Gnesichi. They were discovered on the site of an ancient cemetery. According to the monastery’s inventory, there was a chapel here. Foundations of a similar cult construction were also found a few kilometers away, at the old cemetery in Lavrishev. According to one of the versions of historians, it is the hermitage of an Orthodox monastery. Now the crosses are exhibited on the territory of the monastery. Any pilgrim can touch them. Scientists will study the stone symbols of Christianity in order to date the findings. However, they will not leave the territory of the monastery.
