Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi the Secretary General of the UAE Media Council, met with a media delegation from the Republic of Belarus led by Pavel Lazovik, Director of the international satellite Belarus 24 TV channel of Belteleradiocompany, to discuss the prospects of expanding media cooperation between the two sides. The meeting discussed ways to expand the presence of Belarusian media content in the Middle East and Africa by taking advantage of the UAE's developed infrastructure and favorable legislative environment for the growth of the media sector.
The Council's mandate includes reviewing and approving the content of all media that are printed, published and broadcast in the UAE. The Council is in charge of registration and accreditation of media workers and foreign media correspondents in the country.
Pavel Lazovik, Director of the International Belarus 24 TV Channel, told about the projects that the Belarusian TV channel is ready to offer to the Arab viewers, about the ways of signal reception in the Middle East countries through satellite broadcasting, as well as about the possibilities of Belteleradiocompany in connection with the start of broadcasting in Belarus of the full-fledged news channel First Informational
Alexey Zhaldybin, Consul General of Belarus in Dubai, noted the favorable conditions for the development of the Belarusian-Arab partnership in the media sphere - the rapid growth of the Russian-speaking audience in the UAE, including due to the active development of tourism.
