World Red Cross Day

8 May is World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day. The staff and volunteers of the organisation work in 176 countries around the world, providing assistance to the wounded, sick, prisoners of war, immigrants and refugees. Humanity, voluntariness and unity are the main principles of the movement activists. More than 1 mln people are the members of the Red Cross in Belarus. About 13.000 volunteers are ready to help in emergency situations. Each member of the organisation is trained in first aid, and the most active participants undergo comprehensive training.
