Vitebsk is holding celebrations to mark the 81st anniversary of liberation from the Nazi invaders. During the Great Patriotic War, the city was completely destroyed. At the time of liberation, only 118 residents remained here. The ancient city was rebuilt from scratch. A rally was held at the memorial in honor of Soviet soldiers, partisans and underground fighters. The memory of the defenders was honored with a minute of silence.
