There are more than 2.6 mln families in Belarus

On the eve of Family Day, Belstat shared statistics. So, there are more than 2.6 mln families in Belarus. Almost 80% of them live in cities, while the rest chose to live in rural areas. At the end of last year, more than 5.500 young families and almost 8.000 large families improved their housing conditions or got new housing. In 2024, more than 46.000 marital unions were concluded. And most of them are between citizens of our country. Supporting both large and young families is a national priority for Belarus. Last year, spending on state benefits for families with children added more than 10%, and on maternity — more than 7%.
