The Soyuz rocket successfully launched the Bion-M2 biological satellite into orbit
21.08.2025
Seeds of Belarusian tomatoes were sent into space on the Bion-M2 biosatellite as part of an experiment conducted by scientists together with Belarusian and Russian schoolchildren. The rocket was launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome on 20 August. The seeds are attached to the outside of the satellite and hidden inside to protect against high temperatures. After returning to Earth, they will be transferred to schools to study the effects of weightlessness and temperatures on germination. The biosatellite will spend 30 days in space and will return to our planet on 19 September.
