The renovated sculpture of Christ returned to the Budslav church
The cult work, which is believed to date back to the 17th century, was previously located in the so-called old church, in its altar part. During the fire, the wooden sculpture was saved and sent for restoration. The famous restoration artist Alexander Tarasik restored the work to its authentic appearance. According to the master, he managed to get to the author's painting, which had survived several centuries under layers of repairs and alterations. The renewed figure of Christ will be looking for a place in the church, which to this day lives in the mode of restoration. In the meantime, and until the end of Lent, the spiritual relic will be kept next to the main shrine of the national sanctuary — the Icon of the Mother of God of Budslav.
