The rate of endoprosthetics in Belarus has tripled

The pace of endoprosthetics in Belarus has tripled over the last five years. In 2024, more than 21.000 operations were performed. A total of 46 health care institutions in Belarus are engaged in hip joint endoprosthetics, 25 of them — knee joints. These types of surgical interventions are performed by 256 orthopedists. Last year, 170 specialists were trained. In Belarus, the rules of endoprosthetics of large joints and the reasons for removal from the waiting list have been changed. The operation can now be postponed for up to six months, but only for significant reasons.
