The protection of bank cards and non-cash payments have been improved in Belarus
21.05.2025
Starting from 22 May, the National Bank makes adjustments in a number of operations. The changes take into account the proposals of citizens and financial institutions. The issues of data leakage have been specified, and the procedure for blocking and unblocking payment instruments has been clarified. The instruction also stipulates that banks are obliged to issue cards on physical media only with an EMV standard chip — this is an additional protection against fraudsters. Also, banks must ensure the possibility of multifactor authentication for transactions on the Internet.
