The National Assembly of Belarus adopted a statement in connection with the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, addressing the international community. In particular, it notes that the anniversary of the Victory is not only an occasion for celebrations, but also an important reminder of the value of peace, freedom and human life. "Parliaments of all states need to join efforts in the struggle for peace, strengthen international cooperation, maintain dialogue and good-neighbourly relations, find compromises even in the most difficult situations". The Belarusian parliamentarians call on the world community to remember what unites us — the desire for peace, justice and well-being.
