The National Academy of Sciences hosted a solemn meeting of the participants of the XVII Belarusian Antarctic Expedition

After productive research work the participants of the 17th Belarusian Antarctic Expedition returned home. The solemn meeting of the polar explorers took place the day before at the National Academy of Sciences. For 168 days 14 specialists were in permafrost conditions, studied ecology and local landscape for new developments in medicine, biology and agriculture. Great attention was paid to the development of research and living conditions for work in the Antarctic. It should be noted that during the 17th Antarctic expedition for the first time in the history of independent Belarus the National Flag of the country was hoisted at the Earth's cold pole of the inland Vostok Station.
