His son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren arrived from Moscow to attend the solemn event on the occasion of naming the secondary school No. 20 in Mogilev after Hero of the Soviet Union Sergei Aleinikov and unveiling the memorial plaque. They brought letters of thanks from the Long Range Aviation Command and the Moscow City Duma for preserving the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. Sergei Petrovich Aleinikov was a legendary navigator of long-range aviation of the USSR, a participant of the Finnish and Great Patriotic Wars, who made more than 200 combat missions. He took part in the Battle of Moscow, was one of the first to bomb Berlin and after the war was a test pilot of new aircraft.
