The government of Belarus discussed preparations for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War
About Br9.5 mln is provided in the republican budget for payments for the upcoming 80th anniversary of the Victory. This was discussed during the meeting of the Republican Organizing Committee. Veterans and those who suffered during the war will receive this money. For example, blockade runners, prisoners of concentration camps and family members of partisans and underground fighters. In 2024, more than eight thousand people received payments. Numerous actions will also be organized, social and living conditions of veterans will be checked. As noted by Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, the President has set a task: 9 May, along with such traditional events as a solemn meeting, concert and parade, to hold another one — at the site of Minsk International Exhibition Center. It will be an exposition dedicated not only to the 80th anniversary of the Victory, but also to the achievements of the modern Belarusian defense industry.
