The Economic Court of Appeal will be opened in Belarus
On 3 April, the President signed a decree on the establishment of the Economic Court of Appeal. It will start working from 1 January 2026, i.e. from the date of entry into force of the Code of Civil Procedure. The decision was taken by the Head of State in order to implement the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure, which provides for the creation of a three-tier system of economic courts. This structural transformation will take place by separating the activities of the courts of first instance and appeal, which now function within one court. This will be an important step towards increasing the efficiency of justice. The Court is planned to be formed at the expense of the existing number of judges and staff of other courts. A total of 27 judges, including the chairman and his deputies, will work in the court. The Supreme Court has been instructed to submit proposals on candidates for managerial and judicial positions.
