Promising areas for searching rare-earth metals in Belarus have been named
An operative meeting was held in the Scientific and Production Center for Geology, during which the prospects of searching for rare-earth metals in our country were discussed. The specialists connect certain directions with the rocks of crystalline basement within the boundaries of Zhitkovichi, Shchuchin and Grodno districts. Now a detailed study of the geological material from the foundations is being carried out to further determine the composition and scope of work required to further include the activities in the state programme "Nedra" for 2026-2030. Chemical elements are extremely important for electronics, aerospace research, components of power grids and electric motors, and the chemical industry. Their potential is indeed great. The only question is the quantity and the ability to extract them with minimum damage to nature and minimum resource input. Rare earth metals are valued for their unique chemical and physical properties. Hence the high interest in this topic.
