The secondary school of Kirovsk agro-town of Vitebsk district was named after Hero of the Soviet Union Vladimir Kurilenko. The ceremony was attended by teachers, students, veteran paratroopers, as well as representatives of the district administration. A memorial plaque was installed on the school building. During the Great Patriotic War Vladimir Kurilenko successfully completed a mission to destroy a railroad bridge and enemy equipment. In May 1942 he was mortally wounded. The school museum exposition tells about the life and exploits of the native of Vitebsk region, the events of the Great Patriotic War and the genocide of the Belarusian people.
