Pioneer Friendship Day is celebrated today in Belarus

19 May is the Day of the Pioneer movement foundation. This is the most massive children's public association in Belarus. For more than a century the pioneer movement has been uniting the most active and purposeful. Now there are about 600.000 children in its ranks. Schoolchildren from 7 to 10 years old are called Octobrists, up to 14 years old — pioneers, and over 15 years old — leaders and guides. The children actively participate in environmental actions, volunteer projects, sports competitions and creative contests. Pioneering in Belarus is not only a history, but also a modern movement. It continues to play a significant role in the upbringing of the young generation, forming active and responsible citizens of their country.
