His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia presented Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavl, Primate of the Belarusian Orthodox Church, with the Order of St Seraphim of Sarov, First Class, during the celebrations in Polotsk. This award is given for a special contribution to the revival of monasteries, churches, pastoral and church-social activities. Today Polotsk is celebrating the 900th anniversary of the St. Euphrosyne Convent, one of the most ancient and spiritually significant shrines of the country. The solemn liturgy was held in the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross of the Monastery and was led by the Patriarch himself. At the end of the service church awards were presented. Today, a traditional procession went through the streets of Polotsk.
