Overpasses in Minsk are being overhauled

About a dozen of bridge structures are planned to be repaired in the Year of Improvement in Minsk. In the centre of the capital the overpass between Moskovskaya Street and Independence Avenue has already been closed for reconstruction. The length and width of the overpass will remain the same, but the reliability will be increased by many times. It itself will be transformed because of the number of supports: part of them will be dismantled and replaced by three metal structures. Outdoor lighting and illumination of the structure will also be revised: it will become more modern and fit into the unified concept of the capital's centre. Specialists will work on the site round the clock. According to the regulations, they have 23 months, but they intend to cope by the end of this year.
