Over 30.000 foreign students receive education in Belarus
Over 30.000 foreign students from more than 100 countries study at Belarusian universities. Most often applicants from China, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Sri Lanka, India and Lebanon come to Belarus to get a diploma. Engineering, pedagogical and medical specialities are the most demanded by foreigners. The rules of admission to Belarusian universities for foreign citizens are determined by international treaties of Belarus. Special conditions — within the framework of the Union State. Belarusian and Russian students have equal rights. Thus, citizens of Russia can enter Belarusian universities for both free and paid education on the basis of the results of the CT, USE or interview. Currently, there are more than 2.500 Russian students studying in Belarus. In 2025, Belarusian universities have allocated 850 budgetary places for citizens of Russia.
