On 1 May, an updated law on veterans came into force in Belarus
Social protection measures for participants in the Great Patriotic War have been strengthened. Support measures have been expanded for prisoners of fascism, home front workers, veterans of combat operations in other countries, and military widows. Everyone gets their own innovations, whether it is earlier retirement, allowances and surcharges or free medical care and recuperation. Belarus remembers and appreciates everyone's feat. This year, the amount of annual financial aid has been significantly increased. Participants of military actions in defence of the Fatherland will receive Br5.000 each. Also, Br2.500 and Br1.500 will be paid to different categories of citizens. All the nuances are specified in the government decree. Payments will be made from 2 to 8 May inclusive.
